Grayell nodded. He remembered his time in the East very well. He'd gone there for trade and profit and was still at the helm of his own ship then, the Harpy. He found himself a student instead, then an assassin-come-bodyguard. His fingers slipped along Kiko's scalp though and dappled over her skin, gently twirling through her hair as he spoke.
"Yes. And he was a right bastard, who deserved to be killed. He was a mongrel of the worst stock, who treated his people like slaves, abused both women and children and acted like a deviant God among men. And yet I protected him, though I knew he deserved death. Tell me you recall why, Kiga."

Ivy nodded her understanding as the man spoke, slipping her bow back onto her back and feeling silly that she had forgotten she had not placed it back when the drunk man walked away. "Im sorry." she told him quickly so she could listen to what he was saying. The Chest was a place then? Ivy figured it was probably a bar. "Thank you, sir." she smiled happily before moving past him, keeping her eyes moving as she looked for the Treasured Chest. She didn't walk for long before she found it, and quickly opened the door and walked in.

Dani finished her prayers and rose from her place in the gardens rubbing the dull ache from her muscles that had grown stiff. She gathered her things and went to walk inside.
Galena had not chosen to answer her prayers today it seemed as in this place of healing, she found her hand drawn to rest on the hilt of her sword almost for reassurance. In this place of peace she found her eyes darting to the shadows and hidden corners of the rooms and passageways alert for danger. She found herself spending her time here roaming the halls as if on patrol and going out of her way to pass by the healers as they worked to check that they were ok. Until the Sentinels ere able to come up with more information about the attack and the reason behind it, she would continue to do these things, if only for her own peace of mind.
It was with these thoughts in mind that she rounded the corner that led to the front entryway. Her eyes avoided the place where Iona had laid so very near to death and lit upon those gathered there, especially the red haired woman that carried herself with a air of knowing how to handle herself in a fight.
The sight brought her to a halt. She knew that the House of Galena welcomed all who needed aide. And that that included dangeous people that lived dangerous lives. But that didn't stop her from being hesitant whenever one came seeking the Healers.
"Ely. Celaena."
She greeted each in kind with a familiar nod.
"What's going on?"
She tried to play off her nerves with a smile as she looked at the woman in the doorway and tried not to be obvious about trying to guage her threat level.

Exercise that became habit that was so ingrained now as to be instinct had Daisy appraising the two women who greeted her. The plain looking one with dark hair seemed very earnest and eager in the way of a puppy that wants to please everyone. There was nothing about her that said 'fighter' or of having a readiness to violence. It made the cathian who came up beside her that much more of a contrast. She had the sort of looks that would make most men, and some women, forget their better judgment to do ridiculous things simply for her notice. The display of fire magic was just as hard to miss, and Daisy felt sure it was meant to be so.
She addressed the both of them, and though she tried to keep her voice friendly she simply was not very good at 'friendly'. Intimidating, angry, violent, wrathful, dangerous, and all the like came very naturally to her. Friendly just wasn't a common part of her nature, and it showed.
"I am in need of a healer's talents, and though I am not flush with coin I am quite willing to trade favors."
She remained at the threshold of the door waiting to see if she'd be accepted or turned away. Either outcome seemed equally as likely in her mind at the moment.

::The walk took hours, but at least the view was amazing. The waves crashed against the shore amid the cries of gulls and other birds as they hunted the tide pools for food. As you continue north the shoreline begins to turn more and more rocky until finally you come to a place where the terrain inland begins to rise and separate from the shore. There is a path that follows along the rise to take you up along the growing ridge, while the stoney beach continues on ahead of you flat and narrow along the water.
Looking ahead you can see that the rise will continue to build to be a cliff overlooking the water with no obvious way to gain its summit once past this split aside from climbing the cliffs by hand.::

Kiko remained quiet here, too. Though, her amber eyes went straight to the Wolf as he offered them tea and blankets and gave a silent thank you. She relaxed a bit herself, the stretching of her legs and lower body done quickly before wrapping herself in the warmth of the blanket.
She poured tea for all while the Wolf spoke and found a more comfortable pillow, namely his body instead. Kiga's voice was calmer and she was glad of that. In fact, she was almost drifting off when his mention of the warlord brought her eyes back open.

Ely flushed and dropped her hands into her lap. She was probably making way too much noise if the people currently staring at her was any indication. But, at Kiga's words her whole face lit back up.
"I always miss you, Kiga. Every day. I'm sorry I've been so busy."
Ely picked up the silver fork setting on the white napkin beside her and fiddled with it. There were probably other things she could talk about but now she was thinking of how lonely he must have been. She had a quick flash of memory, too.
Kiga sitting silently by himself at a table in the tavern. No one was sitting with him and no one had been talking to him until she spoke. It's what prompted her to sit down in the first place. He seemed alone in a room full of people. He still had that ability, too. Ely put the fork down and reached across the table instead.
She left her chair, standing on the tips of her toes, and kissed him right on the lips. She never wanted him to feel alone again.

Re: Archery, Fire & Music « Result #10 Yesterday at 6:09am »
Several things happened all at once with Dominic at the epicenter. Dani, like Perry, was an excellent bowman. Her arrow hit the ground with enough power to wobble the shaft between the dog's back paws, and but a few seconds after Dominic's threating shout.
Dominic's walking stick was no mere instrument to keep him in touch with the world, either. It was, in fact, a weapon with a wide range of attack possibilities now visible and he was well versed in their use. He could certainly defend himself and Jax from an dog standing on it's back paws and carrying an umbrella.
Perry hit the ground running with a sword gripped in his fist and murder in his eyes. Ely might have been shocked by that, had she seen him. They had been friends for a very long time, but in that time Perry had been able to separate his military persona with his performance one. Currently he was teetering on the edge of sanity and in the middle of battle it was easy to fall.
For herself, Ely had seen the farmer's wife inside the house. The farm had felt inert and cold to her which was not that surprising, until she realized it was springtime and everything should feel awake and alive. Then Dominic's shout yanked her head around. It had been a mistake to accept the farmwife's offer to search the place. She had been so focused on finding the dog.
Now, it had divided them. Where was she? The farmer's wife? Ely did not move. Instead she found the tendrils of the hearthfire certain the woman would make an appearance.
The dog's teeth pulled back in a savage snarl. The arrow had gotten too close for comfort, and she did not care at all for the narrow steel blade stuck in her face. She could see Perry rounding the corner, too, another issue that would need to be taken care of before much more time had past.
"JAX!"
Her voice thundered out in a virulent tone.
"BAD BOY! Come here! This instant!"
Dominic felt Jax's hand slide from his grasp. The soft footsteps were so light that he might have heard them. But, the drumbeat and cymbals coming from the farmhouse were creating a whole wave of vibrations that tore at his sensitive ears. Dani and Perry could see the reaction, though. The cringe and shrink of young Jax's shoulders and his dropped head. In fact, he looked more dog-like in his behavior than the actual dog standing on two feet beside him.
